freelan software package provides Peer-to-peer virtual private network daemon, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install freelan
freelan is installed in your system.
Make ensure the freelan package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep freelan *
You will get with freelan package name, version, architecture and description in a table
